I've been busy lately. My first birthday was lots of fun. I opened presents, enjoyed some carrot cake and fell asleep in my highchair. I like to run around and walk all the time. I really wish I could jump. I giggle at Toulouse and Django. I like music and have my own way of dancing. I can turn on the radio or stereo. I still enjoy books. Mostly I explore inside and outside. I like to say "Hi" and wave "Bye bye". I'm getting four molars making my tooth count 12. I love to eat fruit, especially Colorado peaches. I'm going to be a big brother in late January. It's been a hot summer, but I'm not sure about wading pools yet, the water seems a bit cool. I'd rather walk around and let the breeze cool me off. I just got some musical instruments. I'll be exploring percussion first with a triangle, wooden sticks and a shake tambourine. We got a recorder, but that may be for later. I may not have many words yet, but I'm developing a bigger repertoire of facial expressions. Here's a video of a recent trip to Broomfield.

A horse, some stairs, and lots of reading
Hi everybody,
I'm getting pretty quick at climbing up the stairs. I can go down sometimes, but mostly just up. I have a rocking horse that makes sounds if you pinch his ear. I also have a cat that makes noise if you pull his fur and a dog that licks your hands when you eat in the high chair. I love switching the light switch off and on. The most convenient light switch is near my changing table, so be prepared for me to stand up and head for the switch when it's time to change my diaper. I am enjoying books more and more each week. Spring is here, so soon I'll be spending more time in the baby swing at the park.

crawling mastered!
Forget crawling on my belly, now I'm fast as can be crawling across a room. I'm particularly interested in dog toys at the moment. I can eat two containers of baby food even if one is mixed with cereal. I have one more sign class this coming weekend. I like to be tipped back in my stroller so I can say hello to whoever is driving. I'll give you a smile and a giggle if you do that. I've been to the zoo a few times. I like the things that move a lot, like monkeys and tropical fish. I'm not at all interested in lions yet because they just sit still.

Just before my ninth month I started crawling. I am getting the hang of crawling on hands and knees, but I'm still quicker scooting around on my belly. I can take a few steps if someone holds my hands above my head. I started eating table food this month too, but I prefer pureed food. I am taking a sign language class with Mommy, Daddy, Aunt Susanne, Uncle Mark and my favorite cousin, Caroline. I can sign "more" and "milk" already. I love to take an evening bath, but who doesn't? I also love to read books. One of my favorites is "That's not my lion." Mommy has it memorized. I sometimes attend a book club called Book Babies at the Park Hill Library. We don't read ahead like adults, we're more spontaneous and just read and sing together. I graduated to a bigger car seat this month. I was getting a little too long for my old seat.
